3.  KNOW AND USE THE 2 CATEGORIES OF EVIDENCE

    The 2 general categories of evidence are: 

(a) testimony, from yourself and other witnesses; and, 

(b) exhibits.

    Testimony includes: 

(a) oral statements, in open court; and, 

(b) written statements, submitted to the court in documents called "declarations."

    In California, the overwhelming majority of testimony considered by the court in parental rights cases, is presented in written form, in declarations.

    Exhibits include: 

charts;
diagrams;
documents; 
letters;
memoranda;
photographs;
printed reflections of computer files;
records;
